Gluten Free Hot Chocolate Recipe

A thick and creamy hot chocolate that is dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan....the addition of cocoa butter adds an unforgettable taste and texture!\n

Ingredients:

\n[caption id="attachment_33356" align="alignright" width="150"] Gluten Free Hot Chocolate[/caption]\n\n3/4 cups water\n1 cup almond milk\n3 tablespoons cocoa powder\n1 tablespoon carob powder (or more cocoa powder)\n1/8 teaspoon sea salt\n1 tablespoon arrowroot\n2 tablespoons natural granulated sweetener (coconut sugar)\n1 teaspoon vanilla\n1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, optional\n5-8 drops Sweetleaf liquid Stevia\n2-3 teaspoons cocoa butter, optional, but delicious!\n

Method:

\nIn a saucepan, whisk together the water, cocoa, carob, sugar, and salt, and place it over medium heat.\n\nIn a separate bowl, whisk together the milk with the arrowroot until the arrowroot has dissolved.\n\nOnce the water/cocoa mix is warmed, add the milk arrowroot mix to it, and continue heating it through until the mixture has thickened (about 1 minute). Don’t boil the mix!\n\nOnce thickened, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla, cinnamon, Sweetleaf Stevia, and cocoa butter (this enhances the chocolate flavour even more!).\n\nPour into a couple of mugs and share with a loved one!\n
